"Participants work as a team to build a designated structure that is posted on the TSA website. Teams apply the principles of structural design and engineering through research, design, construction, destructive testing, and assessment to determine the design efficiency of the structure."

For the Connecticut State Conference, this competition entails building a bridge according to the Competitive Events Guidelines specs and having it judged on-site on the day of the conference. There is no semifinal competition or LEAP interview. Either individuals or teams of two (1-2) can participate.
