Children's Stories (MS)

"Participants create an illustrated children’s story that will incorporate educational and social values. The story may be written in a genre of their choice. Examples are fables, adventures, non-fiction, fiction, and fairy tales. The story must revolve around the theme chosen for the given year."

For the Connecticut State Conference, this competition entails creating a children's story according to regulation and about the year's theme, and having it judged on the day of the conference. There will be no semifinalist round. Either individuals or teams of up to five

(1-5) can participate.

  1. Communicate how increases in human population and consumption of natural resources impact Earth’s systems.

  2. Discusses the rise in global temperatures over the past century. 

  3. Describe or give an example of how synthetic materials come from natural resources.
